Can you hear me everyone? The teacher asked

Yes teacher we can! They replied

No, I mean can you hear me? The teacher repeated

Yes teacher we can! They replied

No, sorry what I meant was can you hear me speaking through the mic? The teacher elaborated. 

Yes teacher we can. And we can see you speaking through the mic too! They all said. 

Okay, but can you hear the mic? The teacher asked. 

No teacher we can't hear the mic! But we can hear you! They all said. 

Still feeling dissatisfied with the students responses the teacher asked further, 'I know you can hear me, but is the mic working?'

They replied 'We don't know! Is it?' 

The teacher 'I don't think it is!' 

The students advised the teacher with the obvious 'Have you plugged it in?' 

'Oh, thank you! I think that works now!' The teacher replied with some embarrassed relief! 

'But teacher, it's not clear!' They suddenly protested. 

'Hmm, wait, let me see'. The teacher began fiddling around with the mic. Straightening any wires, looking for any interference, anything loose. 'How about now?' 

'Better teacher, but its too low!' They complained. 

'How about now?' The teacher had just adjusted the volume on the mic. 

'Oh it's too loud!'. The students protested once again. 

Well, it seems like we've run out of time everyone!
