My Class in Virtual Reality
Published on Thursday, 29th July 2021
Virtual Reality has taken over the world. 60% of the population still remain to be vaccinated. In-person classes for students is still risky even after 4 whole years after the outbreak. Zoom fatigue is the new pandemic. Students, instructors, employees and more needed a change. Hence, in order to simulate the same experience of an in-person class, an in-person meeting, the world has quickly adopted Virtual Reality in higher education. This allows students to join their classes "in-person" right from their bedroom.
VR, however, is very expensive technology. Universities adopted Virtual Reality quite religiously to improve the higher education experience for their students which has led to tuition fees to skyrocket. An option for a more interactive educational experience is available, but to whom? Inequalities are once again exacerbated.
